Though there is a hell of a lot of skill, patience and focus required in order to play poker ‘on form’ regularly, ultimately of course, it is a form of gambling with nothing guaranteed (like most things in life), so it’s not for everyone and can leave a few people frowning at the very name ‘poker’. so if this is you then please feel free to leave safely here

I have made this site because I just love the game of poker and what it’s about. For me it’s the concrete jungle in a deck of cards and it’s all about winning, being the best and knocking the other players off the tables so that you can claim the bounty at the end.

I respect the people who play professional poker and those who are striving as amateurs. I understand the reasons why they play, the dreams they have and the strength they show when they pursue the game on their own, the mental stress and the frustration at wanting to win and acheive something against other players in an uncertain yet very exciting mental arena that can be unbelievably rewarding financially.

Though poker is a form of gambling, it takes skill and judgement to win regularly and its people like :

Tony G ( Tony G Poker Room ) pokers big mouth and big hearted bad boy
Mr Chan who won in Vegas illegally at the age of 16
Daniel Negreanu ( Poker Stars) a very sharp and very witty poker player

It’s guys like this that makes me want to promote and play poker rather than shy away from it as I have a belief in the game, the reasons why people play, the hopes and the mental strength plus the reading of people that makes the big guys what they are in the world of professional poker.

When you go to work you are ‘given’ a paid position. The position your are in is what earns you your wages. Depending on your mindset at work, you may work in an office as a clerk, have a degree in Chemistry but your knowledge base in the working world makes it impossible to get anywhere because maybe all the good jobs have gone, maybe you are not in with the in crowd at work and the bosses, maybe you are happy to plod doing a job that simply gives you the wage you need to get by and no real pressure.
Being a boss is big pressure and whatever your position in your employment will dictate how you react to pressure, how you need or don’t need anyone to give you employment, how you get out of bed in the morning and how you go home and relax.
Being a boss means you can’t just drop everything and go home. You must realise your position and realise why you do what you do, no matter what others think of you, and that is what poker is all about, being your own boss, playing things your way among other poker players who think they are the boss and just like any other business, being your own boss in poker should be treated like being your own boss in business and you have to do what ever it takes ( with the rules of respectfull conduct to the people you are playing) to win and gain position as ‘Top Dog’.

You will never win big in poker if you can’t be yourself and your own boss and are not afraid of others seeing who you really are, who the person is inside and what you really want out of playing poker.

Once you can play and be yourself, then you will be in a position to play in order to learn the game and progress .

Poker is a multitude of sins all at once but ultimately its about winning.
Poker is focus, it’s about being the boss, being your own boss, it’s about playing things your way and trying to get people to think you are the boss, it’s about being selfish, greedy, stubborn, carefull, giving yourself breathing space and taking yourself away to look in on a game then hitting hard when you can, if you have to sucker punch people then do it but you have to read other people around you in order to do it and even the weak looking players are trying to stop you get what you want but at the same time are prepared to give you what you are trying to do to them.
Then when you lose or win a big hug or a well done and even after beating you with a shit hand after making you think it was a great one there is respect between you……..thats what poker is all about !

If you have things on your mind during a game,, work, life, if you have your wife on your back or your mates watching the football on tv while you try to play seriously, then you won’t be able to focus on the game for long. You won’t be able to work in a relaxed manner in a stressful situation (trying to hide your emotions and trying to win and even online people can read you especially when money is at stake, so if you cant’ concentrate 100% on a few hands then ultimately you will never make any serious money playing poker online nor offline. You will never make the big competitions and you will never win and make a profit nomatter how small and regularly unless you play when the time is good for you and you feel comfortable playing.
